Groundnut is mainly grown in countries like India, USA and China. This plant has oil seeds with about 40-50% oil and 30-35% protein.
Unlike most plants, the peanut plant flowers above ground, but fruits are produced and grown underground. From the beginning of planting peanuts to the time of harvesting, the growth cycle of peanuts takes 4 to 5 months depending on the type.
Suitable soil for planting peanuts:
The soil used for planting peanuts should be well drained and its texture should be loamy-sandy. Soil pH should be between 6 and 7.
Suitable temperature for planting peanuts:
The climate required for planting peanuts is a warm climate because peanuts need high temperatures to grow. The optimum temperature for this plant is between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius.
The temperature of the peanut cultivation place should not be less than 10 degrees Celsius.
wATERING systems:
Irrigation of peanuts should be done carefully because in addition to the fact that the soil should be moist, it should not be completely wet or submerged. Of course, due to the fact that the texture of the soil is loamy-sandy and it loses moisture quickly, the relative humidity of the soil should be maintained.
Peanuts need less water than other nuts, for example, almonds need 9 times more water than peanuts. Peanut plants need 3 to 5 cm of water per week during growth.
